The Open boNGO Forum is a platform for development-conscience people from all walks of life to share their challenges, successes, questions, and answers with each other. It has also proven to be a semantic resource for realistic definitions of such vague words as development, sustainability, and poverty.

Achievements:

• Establishing an effective working group of 10 members from different NGOs & CBOs meeting on a monthly basis around Blantyre, Malawi (December 07 to date)
• Facilitating an initial permaculture training to all participants (October 08)
• Encouraging inspirational and educational exchange by hosting meetings at the projects of different members (December 07 to date)
• Establishing contacts with relevant partners and institutions on local, national and international levels (December 07 to date)

Goals for 2009/2010:

• Increasing the number of members. How: Promoting the forum within relevant networks and media.
• Motivating changes within development in Malawi. How: Establishing partnerships with relevant local, national and international groups and networks, (e.g. Malawi Economic Justice Network, other NGOs, Nanzikambe Theatre Group etc.)
