The Model Childcare Center of Umodzi-Mbame CBO is providing quality holistic education for approximately 100 children aged 3 to 6 years. The preschool serves as a model and resource center where teachers from surrounding preschools and orphanages come for inspiration and teacher-training. The center is also used by the Afternoon Youth Club where primary school students can enhance their social and academic skills in a friendly, playful, and educational environment.

The Teacher-Training Program is providing training and support in holistic early childhood development and education for 51 teachers from 17 preschools in rural Blantyre, with almost 1,200 Malawian children directly benefiting.

The Model Community Program is aiming to support the Tiyende Pamodzi CBO in raising the living circumstances in their village. In a first step this involved the establishment of a Maize Mill to assist them in financially sustaining and expanding their preschool and home-based care activites. Currently the focus is on the development of another Model Childcare/Community Center.

The Awareness und Linking Activites aim at setting a platform for discussions and idea-sharing regarding sustainable development and approaches. This involves the boNGO Development Forum, the Malawian Essays Reaching the World Project, Presentations and Visits of boNGO's projects in Malawi.
